He started with the original 3 back in 2001 when there was singular focus on triathlon. The team has evolved since those days and so have Kurt's interests. While his focus these days is more involved with racing on dirt, specifically XC mountain biking and cyclocross racing, he periodically jumps back into the multisport and running worlds, but has completed Ironman Wisconsin with enough time to have a beer or two before the time limit, 15 half ironmans and countless other races. He joined Comp Racing in 2009 and has driven the development of our track cycling team ever since, while also representing not jump Comp Racing, but Team USA at the Masters Track World Championships. In college, Shayne transitioned to triathlon and competed in elite sprint and Olympic distances. Triathlon is where he really found his passion for cycling and within a few years he became a full time cyclist. Shayne began bicycle road racing in 2011 and competes as a Cat 3 in both road racing and cyclocross. He races for Comprehensive Racing, based in Salem, MA. Shayne brings a passion for the sport and wants to help others realize their cycling and athletic goals and is a USAC certified Level 1 cycling coach.
